*** All runners must leave the Cut-Off location on or before the designated cut-off time, otherwise, they will not be allowed to continue and will be declared as DNF (Did not Finish). Runners declared as DNF will shoulder the cost of their transport from their DNF location back to the Finish Line unless they have purchased DNF Insurance during registration.

OTHER EVENT INFORMATION

1. There will be NO DROP BAG STATIONS.
2. A BAGGAGE COUNTER will be available for runners at the Start / Finish line.
3. RUNNER SUPPORT VEHICLES OR CREW ARE NOT allowed at any point on the race course. Runners found receiving assistance outside of designated Aid Stations (unless in case of emergency) will be Disqualified (DQ).

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • Qualifying races must have been completed in the period from March 1, 2023 – February 24, 2024.
  • Qualifying race results must be verifiable via the internet (ideally via the International Trail Running Association (ITRA) event results website).
  • Runners without a qualifying race within the requested qualification period, may submit recent training history (verifiable from the internet – e.g. COROS, STRAVA, GARMIN, SUUNTO data) instead. Depending on the Race Director’s analysis of this recent training history, the runner may be denied registration outright or have conditions applied to their registration (e.g. Did Not Finish (DNF) Insurance should be availed). NOTE: DNF Insurance covers the higher than normal risk that a runner may need to be extracted from the race course which incurs additional costs to the Race Organizer.
  • All runners must abide by the Race Rules and Guidelines.
  • The minimum age for runners to register for this race category is 18 years of age on race day.
  • Runners must have officially finished at least one 21 km or longer trail race (qualifying race) to be accepted for this race category.

Mandatory Gear

ALL MANDATORY GEAR must be CARRIED AT ALL TIMES.  This is for the safety of all runners.  Compliance checks will be conducted as follows:

  • Pre-event start line mandatory gear check.
  • Random unannounced check at a location during the event. Runners will be delayed for a set amount of time when these checks are conducted. Finish times will be adjusted based on these delays. This is to be fair to all runners.
  • Finish line gear check.

Penalties may include time-based addition to a runner’s finish time OR disqualification, at the discretion of the Race Director.

  • Cellular phone that:
      • Is fully charged.
      • Is always switched on.
      • Is not set to airplane mode.
      • Is installed with local Philippine SIM card (Globe or Smart).
      • Contains at least Php200 of load credit on the SIM card.
  • Waterproof jacket
      • Should have a minimum hydrostatic head rating of 10,000mm.
  • First aid kit with the following minimum items:
      • Povidone-Iodine Prep Pad (4 pieces).
      • Alcohol Prep Pad (4 pieces).
      • Small Medical Scissors.
      • Gauze Pads (Sterile) (3” x 3” x 8 ply – 2 pieces).
      • Medical Waterproof PU Film Adhesive Tape (10 cm x 10 cm – 2 pieces).
      • Waterproof Medical Sterile Wound Dressing (10 cm x 10 cm – 2 pieces).
      • Disposable Nitrile Gloves (1 pair).
      • Emergency/Survival Blanket.
  • Emergency whistle.
  • Functioning flashlight or headlamp
    With at least 6 hours of battery life
  • Hydration requirement
    At least 1.5L capacity.
  • Extra food to last at least 4 hours.
  • Cash of at least Php1,000.

First Aid kit containing ALL mandatory items and emergency whistle can be purchased during online race registration, or on-site during race kit collection.

    RECOMMENDED GEAR

    • Hiking / trekking poles.
    • Warmer running apparel.
    • Collapsible cups and camping spork can be purchased during online race registration or on-site during race kit collection.
    • 3-in-1 camping spork (good for eating noodles or any other type of food requiring utensils).

    Feel the thrill of the race as you begin your ascent from Kayapa Central School. The road leads you to the enchanting trailhead, where the allure of Indupit awaits. Meandering through dirt roads and intermittent paths, you’ll encounter a mesmerizing river crossing, marking the start of your adventure.

    Venture deeper into the heart of the trail, guided by a single-track path. Along the way, you’ll encounter Bundao, a small settlement that whispers tales of the past. With each step, the allure of Mount Ugo’s summit becomes more prominent, offering breathtaking views that stretch beyond imagination.

    After conquering Mount Ugo’s majestic peak, embrace the exhilarating descent through rocky trails and rustic dirt roads. The trail leads you to Domolpos, where an oasis of spring water and trail food awaits, rejuvenating your spirit for the journey ahead.

    Prepare to be captivated by the picturesque Old Spanish Trail, a 10-kilometer stretch of mostly downhill terrain. As you immerse yourself in the captivating surroundings, your senses will be awakened by the sights and sounds of nature’s symphony. Kayapa Proper West Market, nestled at the trail’s end, offers a moment of respite and nourishment, reenergizing you for the final leg of your adventure.

    From here, the trail winds through rice paddies and reveals a hanging bridge that leads you to Amelong Labeng. This sleepy village, adorned with a barangay hall, school, and worship place, invites you tantalizingly to rest.

    Continuing your odyssey, you’ll head downhill to Besong and then a short but difficult climb up to Castillo Village, embraced by a grand welcome sign and a World War II Memorial. Here, take a moment to reflect on the endurance and determination that brought you this far.

    As you traverse the final kilometers, the trail unveils the beauty of Buaca Lake, a sight that will ignite your spirit. Descending to the enchanting “saddle” area of Balangabang, you’ll be filled with a sense of wonder and awe.
